BREAKING - Lightning Sign Star to a Multi-Year Deal
The Tampa Bay Lightnings ''three-peat'' hopes are unfortunately down the drain, but Steve Stamkos believes they are not done- and can only go up from here.
The Tampa Bay Lightning made some aggressive transactions as well as signings/trades before the NHL trade deadline to beef up for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, two of those being Chicago Blackhawks
Brandon Hagel and Ottawa Senators
Nick Paul.
There is a large difference between the two, the Lightning have seemed to have overpaid for Brandon Hagel sending multiple first round picks,
Taylor Raddysh and Boris Katchouk in return for Hagel who has yet to show his value with Tampa.
Nick Paul on the other hand was traded from the Ottawa Senators to Tampa in exchange for Matheiu Joseph and a fourth round pick, despite the Lightning paying less for Nick Paul he has truly been their best acquisition in quite some time.
Paul finished the year being tied for most short handed goals in the entire NHL, he is sure a workhorse of his own. The big body center man is also highly noticeable on the back check and always puts his size to use.
NHL insider Darren Dreger has announced that the Tampa Bay Lightning will be closing in on a multi-year deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
It's official! He is signed for 7 more years at a steal of a deal at $3,500,000 per season!
This is HUGE news for them as some expected Paul to test free agency, but Paul has agreed to return in blue and white!
