Evgeni Malkin will be suspended 4 games for cross-checking Mark Borowiecki in the face. This is only the second time the Penguins' center has been suspended in his whole career. Under this ruling, he will miss two games against the Islanders, and two against Boston.
At the time, Malkin was assessed a four-minute double minor for drawing blood. Nashville's Borowiecki received a 2-minute penalty for slashing Malkin, first, but went straight to the locker room after the incident, and did not return to the game, which the Penguins won in OT.
