The Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins squared off last night for a heated matchup, the main takeaway of the game was not the final score, or any players performances, but a really harmful play that was done by Buffalo Sabres forward Jeff Skinner.
Penguins forward Jake Guentzel gave a couple extra taps on Sabres goaltender Craig Anderson, which lit a spark within Jeff Skinner- resulting in a 5 minute penalty, as well as a suspension issued by the NHL player safety committee, check it out below:
Buffalo's Jeff Skinner has been suspended for three games for Cross-checking Pittsburgh's Jake Guentzel
The NHL player safety continues to spin the wheel, or flip a coin when deciding punishments it seems as each stick infraction like the one you seen with Jeff Skinner seems to result i different lengths of suspensions, or even fines, like Kirill Kaprizov received just over a month ago for viciously high sticking LA Kings Drew Doughty.
