BREAKING - Player Gets Suspension After Two-Handing Referee in The Face
A professional hockey player by the name of Evan Polei has been trending all over social media as of late, but not for the right reasons.
Evan Polei is with the Winnipeg Jets organization and plays on their affiliate team the Manitoba Moose in the AHL, Polei was furious with a call the referee made and decided to take it on on a baseball swing directed at the boards, but things quickly changed when it struck the referee in the head.
This was not a intent-to-injure situation, it was quite stupid on Polei's part but his intention was not to harm the referee.
Despite it being un-intentional, it still happened and the ref was still left in shock, luckily for the referee it was a minor injury and he stayed in for the remainder of the game.
The play can be seen below:
The AHL has decided to suspend Polei for one game due to ''abusing a official'', one game? Yes, some fans are quite frustrated with the leagues decision, but it truly goes to show they believed there was no malicious intentions on harming the referee.
