6 foot 1- 200 pounds Ivan Barbashev of the St.Louis Blues should be looking at quite the amount of time off after this dirty hit against 5 foot 10- 170 pounds Avalanche defenseman Samuel Giard.
Girard was bloodied in the face after this hit and was sent to the locker room where he was then rushed to the hospital via ambulance.
Girard was further evaluated and he is confirmed to have a broken sternum which will leave him out for the remainder of the year. Prayers out to a safe and healthy recovery!
