The Ottawa Senators are not very good this season and still have to figure out what they're doing with Alex DeBrincat, since the salary cap is not in their favor with only $3 million left to use. Well, this just added another problem.

Senators goaltender Anton Forsberg has been ruled out indefinitely with a MCL sprain in both knees. "Possibly the whole year" he may miss...

Pierre Dorion announces that Forsberg has ligament tears in both knees, indefinite absence but «probably season over». Sanderson upper body, out 10 days to two weeks.

Just one sprain is tough, but spraining both in the same play sucks and is really hard to do. He was stretchered out in last night's game against the Edmonton Oilers. Anton is 30 years old and was drafted in the 7th round during the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The Super-Swede stands at 6'3" and is 197 pounds. Forsberg this season has a .902 SV% with a 3.26 GAA, not bad for a backup goalie. He has 3 years left on his deal at $2,750,000 and I wouldn't be shocked if Dorion tried to trade him on March 3rd to relieve some cap space, but that won't be a possibility anymore.

I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he comes back to his normal self after this injury.
