As the NHL playoffs progressed last year, it became apparent that the Vegas Golden Knights had a better chance of winning the Stanley Cup compared to other teams vying for the same trophy.
Their team is well-coached, their defence is formidable, and they boast plenty of scoring options across multiple lines. When you combine these factors, you have a winning team.
Recently, the newly-minted Chicago Blackhawk, Connor Bedard, who has been enjoying his North American tour and NHL debut, was asked which junior hockey league he considered the best. Bedard responded with a simple statement, saying they have many "Dub Guys," which is a catchphrase in reference to him for victories for former players in the WHL (Western Hockey League).
According to the chl.ca website, 24 WHL alumni were awarded the Stanley Cup with the Golden Knights last season. These alumni include players, coaches, and even their general manager and president. That's an impressive statistic, and Bedard is correct that's a lot of "Dub Guys."
The Blackhawks will play their next game at the United Center on Tuesday, October 24th, against the Boston Bruins. The game is scheduled to start at 8:30 PM Eastern Time.
