Blackhawks Assistant GM Moves Onto MLB Team In A Big Surprise
Jeff Greenberg, assistant general manager of both the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Cubs, has been in the news recently.
As a member of the Chicago Blackhawks the past two years, and the Chicago Cubs the decade before, Greenberg was part of the '16 World Series-winning team.
Whoa, #Blackhawks associate GM Jeff Greenberg is going back to baseball to become the Detroit Tigers GM.
The Detroit Tigers recruited Greenberg because of his track record of success.
As the team strives to become a postseason baseball team in the future, Scott Harris hired Greenberg to bring a fresh perspective into the organization.

The Tigers hope that his expertise will help build a winning team since he was known for building one of the best analytics teams in the NHL for the Blackhawks. With Miguel Cabrera retiring soon and Javier Baez being the only Tiger on the books, Greenberg is tasked with reviving the Tigers' postseason success.
As Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks say goodbye, they are excited for what lies ahead for him with the Tigers.
With Greenberg at the helm, the Tigers look to be in good hands as they look to return to their winning ways.
"I'm thrilled to add an executive of Jeff's quality to our baseball operations leadership team," Harris said in a statement. "Throughout this search, it was important for me to find someone who can fit seamlessly into the culture we're building here. I also wanted to bring in someone with a fresh perspective and new ideas that could challenge us on a daily basis and make us all better as we strive towards our goal of bringing postseason baseball back to Detroit."
