Blackhawks' Prospect Praises Luke Richardson's First Training Camp
Blackhawks prospect MacKenzie Entwistle spoke to the media after another day of training camp and gave a little insight into how Luke Richardson's first training camp as a head coach is going.
Entwistle said that it has been «pleasantly straightforward» so far. Entwistle praised the communication from the coaches to the players. Most importantly, Entwistle likes that the coaches are telling the players exactly what is expected from each player at both ends of the ice. Richardson is also emphasizing accountability to the players. Entwistle stated «that's all you can really ask. If there's a breakdown, it's on you».
This mentality has been missing from the Blackhawks for quite some time. Training camp seems to be running a lot smoother and more structured than any other camp under the old regime, which is evident in the player's reactions and takeaways from what camp has been like up to this point. Even though there aren't any expectations to win in Chicago this year, Richardson is going to try to make Kyle Davidson's job a little harder by winning as much as he can, and the players are starting to buy in.
