Petr Mrázek was the starting goalie against the New York Rangers on Dec. 3, he played through the second period, but didn't return for the third. Arvid Söderblom played through the third period in his place and has been the starting goaltender for the last two games. Before last night's game against the New Jersey Devils, the Blackhawks announced Mrázek was placed on injured reserve with a groin injury.
This is the second time this season that Mrázek has been placed on injured reserve, the first time being Oct. 23; he was activated on Nov. 7. He had six starts in his time back, and his save percentage is .884 overall this season. There's no timeline for his return, but Luke Richardson said this groin injury is different from the one that originally took him out of action.
