Blackhawks prospect blocked from fighting after ugly hit
In all sports, it's the job of each teammate to stand up for one another especially after one takes an ugly hit from the opponent. So many times you see this in the NHL when a player takes a vicious hit and all teammates come to his rescue and let them know that there will be a fight coming within the next shift or two to settle the score.
That is hockey, that is how it should be settled. The linesman of the memorial cup feels differently. During the game between the Peterborough Petes and the Seattle Thunderbirds, Pete's Cam Gauvreau decided to throw an ugly hit on Thunderbirds' Jared Davidson.
Blackhawks prospect Nolan Allan of the Thunderbirds decided to drop the gloves along with Gauvreau which the linesman stepped in and prevented the fight from happening.
They drafted the 20-year-old defenceman in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft in the first round, 32nd pick overall. The Thunderbirds ended up winning the game in his heading to the memorial cup final.
