Connor Bedard is well on his way to having an incredible career in the NHL.
The Chicago Blackhawks won the Draft Lottery and have earned the rights to drafting the sensational prospect.
But a lot of fans think the Blackhawks should have never even had a shot at 1st overall, due to what happened in the Kyle Beach. When they should have actually got their draft pick revoked as that was the punishment to other teams for much less.
So when Connor Bedard took to the podium and talked about the Chicago Blackhawks fans were unhappy with his choice of words.
Connor Bedard said it'd be «awesome» if he was taken by Chicago at No. 1 overall: «The history with that organization and that city with sports would be unbelievable. We'll see what happens. If they do select me, that would be a huge honor.»
Obviously he isn't going to disrespect the organization and he wants to give off a good appearance, but his remark are standard for a player about to be drafted. Of course Connor Bedard is being his modest self and would be thankful to join any team in the national hockey league.
One comment that is making waves through NHL Twitter is a fan mentioning the Blackhawks «criminal acts».
Matt Britton on Twitter said:
«Is he aware of The past decade of Hawks criminal acts? The organization covered up *** abuse of players
Maybe he should read up and HOPE he doesn't go 1st overall»
This will have no affect about his selection at the first overall pick. In fact, it probably helped his draft stock as it shows Bedard can stay professional.
