Connor Bedard has very high expectations in Chicago for his first year. And as of right now, he's living up to those expectations.
Bedard is making his preseason debut in the United Center today. In his second ever NHL shift, Connor dangled past both Jake Neighbours and Pavel Buchnevich. After all that, he ripped out a toe drag and his shot almost went in for his first NHL goal.
There are many good things about this. One, we knew the kid could dangle but now he's proving it. Two, the toe trag release works like a charm. And three, penalty drawings. The defenders are going to try to rip Connor off the puck, and by doing so, Bedard might be able to draw a few penalties.
He's already wowing the crowd, and that's a great sign.
