It was a hell of a run by the Edmonton Oilers making it all the way to the Western Conference Finals last-season. Unfortunately for the Oilers goaltending was their Achilles heel. The Oilers desperatly needed goaltending and Oilers General Manager Ken Holland seem to finally get one.
The Edmonton Oilers signed former Toronto Maple Leafs' starter Jack Campbell to 5 year $25 million deal July 13th and the Oilers players I'm sure are ecstatic.
Campbell or "Soupy" as he was called in Toronto is a definite improvement or Mike Smith and Mikko Koskinen. One Oiler who is very happy to have Campbell in Oil Country is captain Connor Mcdavid who would compliment his new teammate and take a shot at Leafs Nation at the same time.
"If he can be the starting goalie for the Leafs, he can be the starting goalie anywhere. Obviously, this is the hockey hotbed and there's a tremendous amount of pressure on whoever fills that net. He's occupied that job for the better part of two years and he's done a great job doing it, so I'm sure he'll transition smoothly."
