Last night the Blackhawks lost 7-4 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, this was the first game for Seth Jones against his former team. Clearly this didn't end up the way the Hawks wanted. With rookie goalie Arvid Soderblom making his second start of the season, the Blackhawks hoped that they'd get a glimpse of their future in goal, but that wasn't the case.

After the game Head Coach, Derek King took some time to speak to reporters about how he felt his young goalie performed:

"He's going to be a really good goalie for us. But still, it's nerves. [It's at] home, his parents are in town. And then what do we do? We don't start the game on time for him, and gave up way too many chances." Derek King

King also called out his team's start to the game which has become a problem this year for his team not getting out of the gate on time:

"We just had too many passengers at the start. Guys were not ready to play and kinda easing their way into it. And you can't do that when you have a young goalie in there...The poor kid was left out hanging out to dry. I mean, that's not very nice." Derek King

During the game King desperately tried to get something going and he even turned to using the "Three Wings" line for a few shifts (DeBrincat-Hagel-Kane)

"Just trying to find something. I didn't like certain guys and Hagel played a little center with me... It didn't really work." Derek King

It's clear Coach King knows that the future in Chicago is going to look a lot different in the next 3 weeks, so as he attempts to get the best out of his team we are likely to see a lot of different combinations and lineups.
