No one likes losing and some times emotions get the best of players. New Jersey Devils left winger Miles Wood had some interesting comments after his team's 5-2 loss to Philadelphia in the season opener.
Of course the headlines across the league led with Wood disrespects his team, which was not the case at all. But in this day and age, Wood felt the need to apologize for his comments.
The Devils faced several long losing streaks last season. They went on a six-game skid last December, seven games one month later and finished the season winless in their last six games. The losing slides led to a 27-46-9 season and another playoff-less finish.
It's clear Devils fans aren't too pleased with their head coach Lindy Ruff who was booed mercilessly during the home opener Saturday against the Red Wings.
It may be another long season in New Jersey, but you can't question their fight.
