Did the Chicago Blackhawks just find Jonathan Toews' replacement?
The San Jose Sharks captain Logan Couture may be next on the trade block, according to rumors. In trade for Erik Karlsson, the team received a decent haul, but what will Mike Grier do with Couture?
Frank Seravalli, NHL Insider, suggested that the team could use their final retainage spot to move their high-priced veterans.
Where does Logan Couture end up?
It will be helpful to clear some of Couture's $8 Million dollar cap hit and to find him a spot on a contending roster. Likewise, the Blackhawks could also afford someone like him, with a wealth of assets available.
Despite the San Jose Sharks being a terrible team in 2022-2023, Couture had a great season with 20 goals and 47 assists for 67 points. Among his 67 points, 20 came on the power-play and he was on the same unit as Norris Trophy winner Erik Karlsson.
Mike Grier would be wise to look for a trade partner for the captain since his trade value won't rise any higher than it does now.
Since Jonathan Toews left the Chicago Blackhawks, have they found their answer?
Additionally, he could mentor and show Connor Bedard what it takes to be a great forward and be another great veteran.
