A commentator from ESPN has come up with a very odd proposition. Keith Olbermann a sports commentator from the popular American Sports news company has made a very controversial suggestion that Olbermann actually believes is a good idea to help a basketball star in arested in Russia.
Brittany Griner a WNBA Star was arrested for narcotics charges in Russia and been in a Russian prison since February. Olbermann's master plan is The United States Government should put Washington Capitals Captain Alex Ovechkin in Jail.
What does Alex Ovechkin have to do with Brittany Griner? In Olbermann's mind Alex Ovechkin and Russian President Vladimir Putin are very close if Ovi was put in Jail The US Government could try to negotiate for Griner's realease.
Olbermann made the suggestion on Twitter saying that:
"There is a growing expectation that Russia will sentence Griner to 10 years in prison."
Griner was detained at a Moscow airport for allegedly carrying vaping cartridges containing hash oil, a marijuana concentrate currently illegal in the country. According to a recent Associated Press report, "Griner's criminal trial is scheduled to begin July 1, Russia will also extend her detention for another six months, the length of the trial."
"I have never hidden my relationship with our president, I have always openly supported him. I am sure there are many of us who support Vladimir Putin. Let's unite and show everyone a strong and united Russia. Today I want to announce a social movement on behalf of Team Putin." - Alex Ovechkin
