The Chicago Blackhawks have let go of many players throughout the last few years, a lot making no sense whatsoever. The odd few making sense at times, one of those being general manager Kyle Davidsons decision to NOT re-sign aging defenseman Calvin De Haan.

De Haan was soaking up precious minutes that the Blackhawks youth could have been experiencing, but he also did his dues on teaching the Hawks youth on the blue line aspects of the game, as De Haan has been around the league for many years. Recent reports have been revealed, and it seems as if De Haan may not be retiring as one team is showing interest.

'REPORT: The #Canucks are reportedly interested in free agents Evan Rodrigues and Calvin de Haan , according to Rick Dhaliwal on Sekeres & Price:''

"I was told this morning the #Canucks are poking around
on Evan RodriguesI also believe in my heart they are still in the mix to land UFA d-man Calvin de Haan. That could be in relation to Tucker Poolman's health, I'm not so sure.

De Haan is reportedly seeking a multi-year deal, while the team is for now offering just one year.
Canucks are $2.8M over the cap with 14 F, 7 D, 2 G on roster (23/23), but could gain $6M additional cap flexibility once Ferland ($3.5M) and potentially Poolman ($2.5M) are placed on LTIR opening day.
