The Chicago Blackhawks make major adjustment to their line-up prior to tonight's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Just hours before puck drop, Chicago Blackhawks head coach, Anders Sorensen, announced a significant adjustment to the team's defensive lineup for tonight's game.
Their rookie defenseman, Ethan Del Mastra, will be scratched from the lineup, with fellow rookie, Nolan Allan, stepping in for their 7:30pm EST matchup tonight at the United center.
The decision comes at a very cruicial time for the Blackhawks, they are currently standing at a two-game losing streak with no sense of direction, and notably continue struggling to find consistency amid an extremely challenging season.
Anders Sorensen's move appears to aim at tightening up their defensive structure, particularly against a highly-skilled team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are hungry to snap their three-game losing skid.
Ethan Del Mastro has shown limited promise of action so far this season, with only seven games played, one assist and one point, Del Mastro sits at a sad plus-minus of -2 points thus far in the 2024-25 NHL season.
With Nolan Allan as his replacement, the Chicago Blackhawks will likely ensure a better game than last night.
Allan is a young and physical player, who is known for his mobility and aggression. In his 41 games thus far into the season, he has tallied one goal and seven assist, but is unfortunately ranked a plus-minus of -13 points.
Despite Allan's lack of contribution to the Hawks' points this year, he has made 59 hits and 41 blocked shots, making him a much better opponent for this rebuilding organization.
With Sorensen taking over as interim coach earlier this season, it has been noted that he's taking a much more aggressive approach with a high-tempo system, especially within these past recent weeks.
Tonight's game isn't just about defense, it's another test in the Blackhawks' promising rebuild. With Nolan Allen ready to prove he belongs, we can expect a hungry turnaround for this NHL basement team.
