Eddie Olczyk.. Handicapper?
Eddie Olczyk is a man of many talents and interests. Not only is he a member of the broadcast team for the Seattle Kraken, but he is also a contender for a job with the Philadelphia Flyers. In addition to these pursuits, it seems that he has a knack for handicapping horses and analyzing their performances to predict the winner of a race.
Interestingly, this role is not unlike how we use statistics to evaluate the performance of hockey players, and there are some intriguing similarities between the two fields.
Olczyk has offered his opinion on who he thinks will win, but ultimately, he believes that the best horse will come out on top. Rather than being pretentious, he suggests that we take a more interesting perspective: horses can come from behind and they don't know who has placed bets on them or why.
In truth, Olczyk's perspective is not entirely incorrect.
