The New York Rangers have advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs following a 4-3 overtime win in game 7 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. This was the first of two game 7's on Sunday, so this one was definitely a tough act to follow.
The hero in overtime this game was none other than former Chicago Blackhawk, Artemi Panarin. Coming into this game, Breadman was certainly having a good series, averaging a point per game with 6 points over the first 6 games. He tallied 2 goals and 4 assists to reach that mark.
He maintained that point per game average with his third goal of the series. An overtime winner that blew the roof off of Madison Square Garden. With this win, Panarin and the rest of the New York Rangers have now earned their spot in the second round. They will be taking on the Carolina Hurricanes, also fresh off of a game 7 win against the Boston Bruins. Should be a very fun match-up!
