Former Chicago Blackhawks Trevor Daley gets a promotion!
Trevor Daley was drafted by the Dallas Stars in 2002 and had a successful career in the NHL.
He played for the Chicago Blackhawks before winning two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Daley retired in 2020 but later returned to play two games with the Florida Everblades in the ECHL.
Trevor Daley, who's served as the Penguins' Hockey Operations Advisor for the past three seasons, goes way back with Pittsburgh's current management team.
He grew up with Jason Spezza in Toronto, and has known Kyle Dubas since his junior hockey days in Sault Ste. Marie.
Afterward, he became a hockey operations advisor for the Penguins, and his since spent the last three seasons in this position.
When Kyle Dubas arrived things changed at a breakneck speed.
Ever since Kyle Dubas took on the role of President of Hockey Operations and later General Manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins, he has molded the team to reflect his own vision. In keeping with this trend, he has recently promoted Daley to the position of Special Assistant to the President of Hockey Ops and GM.
It's interesting to note that Daley grew up in Toronto with former Maple Leaf Jason Spezza and has known Dubas since their time in Sault Ste. Marie. It's a small world in the NHL!
