Former Cup Champion Signs HUGE Deal: Officially Leaves Tampa Bay
The Tampa Bay Lightning have been hit with cap struggles for quite some time now, being back-to-back Stanley Cup champs, pay grades and raises are expected but sometime cannot be done. The Lightning have re signed Erik Cernak, Mikhail Sergachev and Anthony Cirelli all to long term big paying deals meaning some players won't be able to return, one of those being Ondrej Palat.
Palat has continued to be a key contributor to this team and has also taken youth underneath his wing to welcome them in the NHL with there development. Palat also has amazing memories looking back on his time in Tampa Bay, he always came up with clutch goals like these!
Palat has been a steal of a deal when Steve Yzerman signed him years ago in Tampa! Just $5.3 million per season for a few years, but it was time to part ways with the organization and move on to something new. The New Jersey Devils have announced they signed him to a 5 year $6 million per year deal!
