Dominik Kubalik did not catch the fan base by shock when the info broke that he was hitting the free agent market, reports stated that the Blackhawks have been trying to trade Kubalik for months prior. The 27 year old forward is currently coming off a career worst season in multiple categories and was even sat for a good chunk of the last remaining weeks of the Blackhawks season, since his breakout season in the 2019-20 season Kubalik admitted to the Chicago media that his confidence was at a all-time low and he needed to snap out of it.
The possibility of the Blackhawks downfall throughout the last two years could very well be linked to his confidence issues, and a new team may give a spark to his NHL career. He has officially found a new home and that is in a Detroit Red Wings uniform, Blackhawks beat writer Ben Pope tweeted the news that Kubalik signed in Detroit for a two-year $2.5 million dollar contract which will be an amazing pick up if he can find his game in Detroit.
