In his first start of the regular season, Chicago Blackhawks rookie Connor Bedard will take on his idol.
In what promises to be an epic showdown on the 10th, he will face Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
According to reports, Connor Bedard will be mic'd up during tomorrow night's season-opener against the Penguins on ESPN.

It appears that the NHL has chosen to add a new burden to the rookies' shoulders during this bout. Against his idol and the Pittsburgh Penguins, the rookie will be mic'd.
It's unclear why Bedard wasn't allowed to play in the last pre-season game of the NHL. I don't think we'll ever know.
Nevertheless, I think this is a great way to make a rookie who is already nervous, even more nervous.
