Get to Know The Newest Chicago Blackhawk!
The Blackhawks have had to make numerous roster moves this season due to injuries to key players and depth players alike. The most recent injury to Tyler Johnson has resulted in the Blackhawks recalling a new face from the Rockford IceHogs.
Luke Philp isn't a young prospect by any means. Philp is 27 years old has has spent his entire career up to this point in the AHL and WHL. Philp has been crushing it in Rockford this season and is on pace to set a new AHL career high in goals, assists, and points.
Through 31 games this season, Philp has 30 points (14 goals and 16 assists). His previous career high is 44 points, which he achieved last season with the Stockton Heat. The callup marks Philp's first time with the Blackhawks. Philp should give the Blackhawks a boost in the lineup with his scoring touch he's shown this season in Rockford. Hopefully he'll get the opportunity to stick around for a bit.
