The day that we have all been preparing ourselves for over the last few months is here, and yet it still doesn't feel real. Patrick Kane is a New York Ranger. After 1,161 games, 446 goals and 779 points in a Blackhawks sweater, his time in Chicago has come to an end.

During his time in Chicago, Kane has won the Art Ross Trophy, the Ted Lindsay Award, the Hart Memorial Trophy, the Conn Smythe Trophy, the Calder Memorial Trophy, and three glorious Stanley Cups. Kane also played in 9 all-star games and took home a silver and bronze medal in the Olympics while representing the Blackhawks as a member of team USA. The Blackhawks released a Patrick Kane tribute video that is worth the watch.

From the game tying goal in the 2010 playoffs against Nashville to the overtime winner that kickstarted the dynasty, Kane had a knack for the big moments. When the pressure was on Kane seemed to shine the brightest. Kane's impact on the Blackhawks organization, the fans, and the city of Chicago will never be forgotten.

Patrick Kane helped bring the sport back to the city, making Chicago a hockey town once again. He's going to be a first ballot hall of famer, have his number retired, and will certainly have a statue outside the United Center with the other Blackhawks franchise icons. Thank you for everything Kaner. Best of luck in New York in this new chapter.
