The 2022 NHL Entry Draft had many surprising and shocking moments from some of the picks to the trades that were announced.
However the biggest surprise still had to be when the Montreal Canadiens who were hosting the draft Kent Hughes would walk up to the podium to select Juraj Slafkovsky first overall when the consensus pick was Shane Wright.
The pick was met with mixed reviews from hockey analysts but more importantly Canadiens fans. Some fans absolutely loved it while others didn't but one fan who would jump the gun getting a Habs Jersey with Wright's name and number on the back clearly wasn't happy. That fan would throw his Jersey down from the upper bowl towards the ice.
I think most after they got over the shock that the Canadiens didn't pick Wright will start to appreciate the skills of Juraj Slafkovsky who's looking like he's going to be a good fit on the Canadiens top line with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.
