Former Ottawa Senators draft pick has decided to leave the NHL to play in Sweden.
Jonathan Dahlen was a NHL free agent but instead of trying to get picked up by a NHL team Dahlen signed a five-year contract with Timra IK of the Swedish Hockey League Tonight.
The 24-year-old forward scored 12 goals and posted 22 points in 61 games last season, with the San Jose Sharks but didn't get a offer to re-sign making him free to play elsewhere.
Dahlen was originally a second round pick of the Ottawa Senators but then was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in 2017, and traded to the San Jose Sharks in 2019.
