It is time for Toews to hang up the skates and prioritize his health..
Jonathan Toews has had a career worst season as injuries have piled up. Some fans think the captain needs to call it quits on his National Hockey League career so his injuries do not become long term, as they are mostly head injuries with concussions.
Toews has mentioned «I am fighting for my health» about halfway through the 2021-22 season, and recently he has commented more. The captain has put his blood, sweat and tears into the Blackhawks organization which is truly amazing, but now he is putting his health on the line.
Blackhawks fans are bringing up the possibility of Toews being traded away, but that may not be the case, Toews could very well announce his departure from the Blackhawks, not with a trade.. but retiring, which may be the smartest decision.
On top of the head injuries, Toews has fought through Chronic Inflammatory Rresponse Syndrome (CIRS) in the 2020 season.
