Chychrun has been with the Coyotes organization since 2016-2017, even then, after the rebuild was announced Chychrun didn't sound happy about it, despite being signed on with the Coyotes for the next 3 years.

When Chychrun was recently interviewed he was asked if "he'd be ok if he's not traded before the season?"

"I don't know. I'm signed for 3 more years. The trajectory of where the team is going & a lot of that stuff is important to me. I want to be in a position where I'm getting to play a week from now, not packing up."

According to Craig Morgan there is a hangup in the Chychrun trade talks. Reportedly, Chychrun has a small number of teams who he would consider moving to. Chychrun has reportedly asked Bill Armstrong to trade him to one of those teams, which is interesting given his Modified-NTC on his current contract doesn't kick in until 2023-2024.

Interesting note on Jakob Chychrun from a @CraigSMorgan podcast hit yesterday. "Craig insinuated Chychrun wants to get traded to a small # of teams & that's part of what has stalled the trade. "I've heard it alluded to yes, I've heard that was some of what's going on".

Well we have received news that Chychrun would agree to be traded to the Ottawa Senators, and the asking price has been revealed. The Coyotes are asking for two first round picks, a high-end prospect and Nikita Zaitsev in return for Chychrun alone.

A very STEEP price! Nearly double what the Blackhawks received for Alex DeBrincat.
