Jonathan Toews Gets Brutally Honest About His Current State
Luke Richardson and The Chicago Blackhawks have had a terrible season, as expected at the beginning of a full-blown rebuild.
But there's some positive news for long-time fans of the Blackhawks.
It was announced today that Captain Jonathan Toews will return to play for a five-game stretch this afternoon.
"I'm happy with the way I'm responding. Even coming to morning skate today, I feel good and excited. It's definitely a different feeling for myself than I had a couple months ago, before I came out of the lineup."
Toews has been sidelined with a long-term chronic illness in Long-Covid and it seemed like he was bound for the worst.
He has rebounded it seems and sounds ready to contribute.
Toews played only 71 games last season and put up 37 points, and wasn't able to play as well as he liked due to his chronic immune response syndrome.
Here's hoping his last 5 games in a Hawks sweater this season are as memorable as his first 5, as his time isn't promised.
