There's a unwritten rule in the National Hockey League thats you don't try to embarrass another team. Once you have a 4 goal lead teams useally just run out the clock knowing it was a bad night for the other team.
The Washington Capitals must of not got that memo because on November 1st 2013 th in a game vs the Philadelphia Flyers in Wells Fargo Center the Capitals would run up the scoresheet.
Six minutes into the 3rd period all hell broke loose. As that unwritten rule was broken by the Capitals Flyers Wayne Simmonds would take to the ice laying a monster check on a Capitals player.
Tom Wilson would jump in and it was on causing an all out line brawl that included goaltenders Brayden Holtby and Ray Emery. What did we learn boys and girls? Don't run the score up unless you want to throw hands. Watch the video:
