Jack Johnson came to the Blackhawks in free agency last summer fresh off of a Stanley Cup season with the Colorado Avalanche. At the time the move didn't make much sense given the amount of defensemen already under contract, but Johnson fit right in. Even though his stint in Chicago was short lived, it appears that many teammates really took to Johnson and viewed him as a leader.

Max Domi took to Twitter to share a heartfelt farewell to Johnson. Domi said "You're not going to find a better human being out there than this legend right here. So many great memories in such a short period of time. Going to miss ya tons brother. Go get another cup! Good luck champ!"

While Johnson didn't play as well as many of us would've liked, his presence in the locker room made up for it. The 36 year old carries such a presence with him that everyone respects him. He was a true role model for the young prospects who came up in different stints this season for the Hawks.

The Avalanche famously let Johnson take part in their banner raising ceremony on opening night in a Hawks sweater. They didn't have to do that, but everyone respects him so much that the organization claimed it wouldn't be the same without him.

Now Johnson has the opportunity to rejoin the Avalanche's quest to another Stanley Cup. It's unclear if this will be Johnson's last crack at glory, but we all wish him the best in Colorado.
