Over several National Hockey League teams have officially reached out and made agreements with multi-million dollar companies to have a jersey sponsorship, which means ads are officially starting to make their way on to NHL jerseys this upcoming season. Let's take a look at a few of the jersey ads that have already been revealed...
Fans are not too happy, and are genuinely curious as to why NHL teams are in need of more funding? The Edmonton Oilers are the only confirmed NHL team to refuse jersey sponsors, and have turned down several offers from multiple multi-million dollar companies. They choose to put a small logo on their helmets, NOT on their teams respective jersey which is a great move.
This morning on Monday, September 12th the Montreal Canadiens held a press-conference to announce their teams new captain which is Nick Suzuki, they also chose to reveal their brand new jersey sponsor that does not match their jersey whatsoever, and fans are quite furious..
If those comments don't give you a good idea on how the fans feel, just take a look at their jersey ads for yourself on page two..
Are fans over-reacting, or is it really that brutal??
