The NHL trade deadline is exactly two weeks away on March 3rd, where teams will have until 3PM to send in their trades, once 3:01 hits trades will no longer be able to be submitted. Teams are still trying to figure out their game plan heading into the NHL trade deadline, or other teams like the Chicago Blackhawks are already aware of their game plan, which is tanking and selling.

We are aware of the two biggest trade deadline candidates in Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, but with the recent news that Jonathan Toews may be battling the illness he had two years ago whenever he missed the entire 2020-21 season, it seems as if Toews will not be traded due to the uncertainty of his health. Kane on the other hand, remains in question.

Just one week ago, Carlo Colaiacovo, a former NHL defensemen turned TSN analyst stated he has gotten information that Patrick Kane would accept a trade to two specific teams, those being the New York Rangers and a surprising Toronto Maple Leafs team. The Rangers have already made a big splash trading for Vladimir Tarasenko, so it seems as if the Rangers are now out of the Kane trade picture now.

The Maple Leafs still stand, but now the Kane to Toronto discussion has picked up after NHL Sirius XM Radio Host Dave McCarthy overheard trade chatter in the Toronto Maple Leafs press box just two nights ago whenever the Maple Leafs hosted the Blackhawks.

Overheard in the press box:

What number is Patrick Kane going to wear? Nylander probably isn't giving up 88 right?

This adds a much bigger plot, and many are calling it a ''done deal'' due to the news overheard in the Toronto Maple Leafs media press box. More info to come...
