NHL Referee Wes McCauley Under Fire For Brutal Officiating

We McCauley is one of the best referees this game has ever seen. He is not just a great ref in general with calls and such, but he is also known for his amazing penalty calls.

In the Maple Leafs and Blues game, there were plenty of fans who thought that Wes McCauley was very poor throughout the entire game.

The Maple Leafs were able to hold on for a 5-4 win, but fans were still not happy. Wes McCauley was trending on Twitter because of fans throwing him under the bus for a tough night.

Following the game, Sheldon Keefe had to remind everyone that a win is a win:

«As a general rule, you don't get too critical of these games coming out of the (Christmas) break, even less so when you get two points."

Wes McCauley is a fantastic ref...he was just a little rusty, as was everyone.
