Nazem Kadri Makes NHL History On His One Day With The Stanley Cup
When Kadri and Avalanche scored their fourth and final win over Tampa Bay Lightning to win the teams first Cup in over 20 years t made history for many reasons. It was the first Cup win for many players on the Aves, including rookie Cale Makar, Nathan McKinnon, and even veterans who are on the urge of retirement and wanted one last shot at the cup, but it was also a historic moment for Kadri, who became became the first Muslim player to win the Stanley Cup in NHL history.
August 27th was Kadri's turn to have his day with the Cup, lots of players chose to eat poutine out of the cu and even take it surfing, but Kadri had other plans. Bringing the Trophy to the London Mosque in his hometown, making it the first time the Stanley Cup will be held, and celebrated in a mosque.
Kadri is sadly no longer with the Avalanche due to salary cap issues, but he hopes and also states he is in hope to winning another cup and going all in with the Calgary Flames, who signed Kadri to a seven-year seven million dollar contract.
