This year didn't finish the way that the Pittsburgh Penguins or Goaltender Tristan Jarry hoped.

After being injured late in the season, Jarry returned to the playoffs for game 7 vs the Rangers, sadly he ended up being eliminated.

The Penguins General Manager Ron Hextall decided to re-sign both Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang last minute. The Penguins need to figure out now what to do with goaltender Tristan Jarry.

The 27 year-old is heading into the final year of his current contract that pays him $3,500,000 million dollars. Jarry has been steady since taking the net from Penguins previous goaltender Matt Murray.

Jarry Went 34-18-6 with a 2.42 goals against and .91.9 save percentage. The question now will be how much will Jarry's new deal be worth?

The Washington Capitals handed out a five-year deal with a $5.25 million cap hit to Darcy Kuemper, fresh off of a Stanley Cup Championship. The summer before this one, starters Jusse Saros, Jordan Binnington, Philip Grubauer, and standout Igor Shesterkin signed extensions for $6 million or less per season.

Kuemper went 34-17-10 with a a a 2.57 goals against average and .902 save percentage similar numbers to Jarry meaning Jarry will likely be looking to make 5-6 million dollars annually on his new deal in my opinion I think the new contract will be a 5 year deal making Jarry 33 when the Penguins reevaluate Jarry's next deal.
