Organization Releases Update as NHL Defensemen Gets Struck By a Vehicle
The NHL is known for being one of the best sports leagues ever, with lots of fast paste activity it comes with a lot of on-ice injuries, but sadly the Calgary Flames have recently announced that an off-ice injury has been endured by their #1 defensemen, and he is thankful to be alive.
The Calgary Flames have released an official statement on their defensemen Rasmus Andersson, who was struck by a moving vehicle while he was riding a scooter on his way to dinner in Detroit:
At approximately 6:00 p.m. ET, Wednesday, February 8 in Detroit, MI, while riding a scooter on his way to dinner, Flames defenceman Rasmus Andersson was struck by a vehicle. Andersson was taken to a local hospital for a full battery of tests before being released last night.
Andersson is doing well, and he will remain with the team. He is listed as day-to-day.
Andersson has been the Calgary Flames backbone throughout their little success so far this season, he is the main "quarterback" to their powerplay and has tallied up 34-points this year, but that is not the Flames main concern at the moment.
We would like to offer our thoughts and prayers towards Rasmus. The Calgary Flames have released an update:
«He's doing well and is in good spirits. He's very lucky - it certainly could have been a lot worse. He's a little rattled. We'll list him as day to day. He won't play tonight and then we'll see. No injuries we are overly concerned about but we will see.»
We are glad he is in good spirits, and hope he makes a speedy recovery.
