Patrick Kane has been playing good hockey in New York since being acquired from Chicago at the trade deadline. While there were some initial growing pains, Kane has seemingly returned to form over the last few games. Kane has 10 points, 5 goals and 5 assists, through his first 16 games with the Rangers.
While it appeared that Kane was finally settling in and helping push the Rangers to the playoffs, the lingering hip issue appears to be rearing its ugly head once again.
Before Kane was traded to New York, there were concerns over a potential hip injury that was heavily reported but never confirmed by Kane or the Blackhawks publicly. Elliot Friedman reported that Kane needed surgery prior to being dealt and would have most likely had the procedure if he stayed in Chicago.
While Gerard Gallant reported that Kane is day to day and this is a "maintenance day" for Kane, the big question still looms. Will this injury impact Kane and the Rangers in the playoffs?
