It's always amazing, no matter what the age seeing someone's dreams come true. Whether it's someone winning the lottery or having their firstborn child. It's an experience that people love to watch and hope for the best for this person.

Pending superstar Connor Bedard is about to see his dreams come true as he is about to become the first overall draft pick in the 2023 NHL draft going to the Chicago Blackhawks.

The 17-year-old from North Vancouver BC has been waiting for this moment for a long time. All the years and hours of travelling with teams, practicing his craft with shooting thousands if not 10s of thousands of pucks at a net or his basement wall, Bedard fully deserves this accolade and is about to transform the Blackhawks organization into a new era.

Having watched Bedard during the 2023 world junior championships in December, it's incredible the skill set this young man has.

He has tremendous foot speed, a laser beam for a shot and the elusiveness that many players will not be able to catch him even though he currently stands at 5 foot 9, 185 pounds. That speed and size will not play much to a detriment as his skills are far better than that.

Blackhawks fans are in for a treat to watch this young man play will be the top recruiter for another top-end talent to come to the Blackhawks and to play with him.

If General Manager Kyle Davidson does this properly as he has numerous draft picks in the first three rounds along with Bedard and almost $40 million in cap space. He could alter this team in a very short period.

It's exciting times for Blackhawks fans as a new era is about to be born.
