Prospect David Gust goes END TO END!! Ice hogs move onto next round!
While the Chicago Blackhawks have been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, their AHL affiliates are running on all cylinders.
Prospects are fun to watch grow and excel at their game and in a game against the Iowa Wild, a recent call-up had a show-stopping moment.
Winger David Gust turned on the afterburners and went end to end into Iowa's zone to deke on the Wild's defenseman and score.
Followed up by some chippy action afterward, as Brett Sensey and Dakota Mermis went after each other, as Iowa's Joe Hicketts cross-checked Brett Seney earlier.
It was a definite playoff atmosphere in the building as after getting scored on, the Wild got chippy as they weren't able to defend against the IceHogs.
Gust played 4 games in the NHL earlier in the season and put up a goal in his short stint in Chicago. Gust signed with the Bakersfield Condors shortly after his graduation from the Ohio State University and has spread his time in the AHL between the Condors, Charlotte Checkers, Chicago Wolves, and now the Rockford IceHogs.
Will Gust get another call-up if he continues to play like this?
