Crazy Moment...Hurricanes forward punch player on the bench.
Every year, the playoffs always bring out some of the craziest things you'll ever see during a hockey game. Whether it's a bench brawl, too one of the worst goals ever scored, You'll always see something in every round of the playoffs that will just make you shake your head and wonder how that happened.
During game three with the Hurricanes on the road against the Islanders, Martin Necas punched an Islander on the bench after receiving A thunderous body check which put him over the boards and beside their bench.
After getting up from the body check he didn't like what he heard from the Islanders so he decided to punch someone in the mouth with his glove. This, drew the ire of the entire UBS Arena and what's worse he got away with it.
I can't believe there wasn't a call of roughing or I'm not even sure what you would call that since it wasn't on the ice. But you can't just bunch people on the bench because you don't like what they have to say.
The Islanders got their revenge as they beat the Hurricanes 5-1 and got back into the series down 2-1.
