As if the Columbus Blue Jackets hadn't been through enough, laying to rest one of their own in goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks roughly a year ago.
The rumoured threats were absolutely ridiculous and it was felt that was a one and done. Well, apparently that was not the case, as the Merzlikins family, which if you followed it were in fact tight with Kivlenieks and with him the day of his death, faced more of the same.
Elvis' wife took to Twitter to address fans and let them know she would no longer be bring the couples baby to games, as a precaution in fear of the baby's health being jeoparized.
At what point do fan realize that these players are humans too, and do not deserve to be threatened due to a game. A game that at the end of the day is simply that.
For the Merzlikins family, we - at Hawks insider do hope that these awful threats are answered for and that your baby can see their dad play in the future.
