The news that the Vancouver Canucks were ready to listen to offers on Brock Boeser has come and gone.

And the news that a sniper is available, and has underperformed due to lack of playing time and injuries, has reportedly sparked interest league-wide.

According to Pierre Lebrun, there are reportedly six teams that have shown interest in acquiring Boeser.

"So [Boeser's] agent Ben Hankinson continues to talk to teams [and] he's talked to more than half a dozen teams since last week. I don't think this thing is imminent and I think it's going to take a lot of work between now and the March 3 NHL trade deadline." LeBrun said on Tuesday's edition of Insider Trading on TSN.

There is one team I believe that is pretty serious about getting involved if the Canucks [are] willing to eat part of Boeser's contract. But at this stage of the process, I don't think Vancouver wants to do that. Clearing some serious cap space has to be a very important part of any trade involving Boeser from the Canucks' perspective." LeBrun said.

Lebrun wasn't able to name the teams, but given Lebrun's track record, it's likely a good idea to stay tuned.

Boeser is nearly a point-per-game at this juncture of the 2022-23 campaign with 16 points through 20 games. Issue is the Canucks have their captain's future to take into consideration, as he is still unsigned and freeing up the cap hit of Boeser, could mean Bo Horvat gets to stay in Vancouver.

Time will tell what awaits, but it's hard to imagine that a team who has openly expressed their interest in moving a player, wouldn't be tempted by the right package.
