REPORT: NHL Insider Reveals We Could Be Seeing a 33rd Team Join The League
The Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights are amongst the newest NHL franchises and it has benefited Gary Bettman and the leagues pockets greatly, as we are well aware Bettman is all about his money, he couldn't be happier.
The Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights are bringing the NHL in a lot of dough, and are jumping through the rankings on the NHL's most generate revenues list.
The NHL took a severe hit during the pandemic due to many various reasons, the NHL gained a large majority of it back when introducing the Seattle Kraken as the NHL's 32nd team, but not it appears we may have a 33rd team, before we even know it...
NHL insider Chris Johnston stated the NHL could be adding another expansion franchise within the next couple of years, Johnston stated the following:
"Someone had predicted to me during the pandemic that, you know, these owners obviously took on a lot of water during the pandemic when they couldn't sell tickets to their buildings and all those sorts of things.
And that future expansion would be one way to recoup some of those losses. So that'll be something. I'm not saying that on the immediate horizon, but, you know, maybe in a year or two time we're talking about expanding the league beyond 32."

This will truly be interesting and many are wondering if this may be a new Canadian or American based franchise, time will only tell..
