REPORT - The Blackhawks Have Signed The Son of a Former NHL Great

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed the son of former NHL'er Brian Rolston to a 3-year deal.

Throughout three seasons of the contract, Rolston receives a minor league salary of $80K. Chicago will owe him a qualifying offer of $874,125, or 105% of his base salary in the last year of his contract, as a restricted free agent, upon termination. If he participates in at least 10 games in the NHL�each season of his contract, he will be qualified for arbitration.

Ryder Rolston, a 21-year-old forward prospect, has been signed by the Chicago Blackhawks to a three-year, entry-level deal, the organization announced Monday afternoon at 3:52 p.m. According to the organization, Rolston's first NHL deal includes a $895,000 cap charge.

After three seasons of collegiate hockey, Rolston�the son of former NHL player Brian Rolston�leaves the University of Notre Dame. With 10 goals and 27 points in 38 games during his second season in 2021�2022, he made significant progress there.

Rolston's college year unfortunately came to an end in late January as a result of an accident. He played in 27 games, scoring 20 points overall.
