Many players careers are dwelled on by injuries, to the point where retirement is considered. That is sadly the case for Carolina Hurricanes forward Ondrej Kase, who has spent 6 years throughout various teams in the NHL, this would have marked his 7th year but he has only played one game due to injuries..

Kase has been in concussion protocol since playing his first game of the year on October 13th, thankfully he has been participating in team practices since December 16th but has been in a no-contact jersey as his concussion symptoms are still occurring.

Kase hit free-agency this summer and signed a one year deal with the Carolina Hurricanes, now reports are surfacing that he will not be playing another NHL game and will be returning to home in Czech, where he plans to play hockey and sign a contract with HC Verva of the Czech league.

As mentioned Kase was approaching his seventh year in the NHL so it's quite sad to see that he's hit a road block with concussion issues. If he does plan to return home, he will likely take this off-season to recover and ensure he is symptom free before signing with HC Verva of the Czech league.
